YES!!! It was none other than Will Smith. He was offered the role of Neo in The Matrix Trilogy.
He refused the movie saying that "The Plot is Too Complex" and "People won't understand it." The role later went to as we all know Keanu Reaves.
Till date Will Smith agrees that this was the biggest mistake of his entire career and still feels bad about it. Had he taken the role of Neo in The Matrix; His career would have been at an entire different point now.
2.The other noticiable mistake was made by Matthew McConaughey.
He was offered the role of Jack in The 2nd Highest grosser of all times. Yes; its Titanic.
The role later went to Leonardo DiCaprio who gained a lot of fame afterwards and appeared in the eyes of Martin Scorsese who continued to make masterpieces with him in future.
3. Tom Cruise was offered the role of Tony Stark in Iron Man; but he refused the role and it later went to Robert Downey Jr who played the role extremely well and also reprised his role not only in two more films of the same franchise but also in Two parts of The Avengers and Captain America : Civil War.
This looked odd; doesnt it. Seeing RDJ as Iron Man has become a habit.
Now thats more like it.
4. Will Smith also made another big mistake; He chose After Earth over Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. The role later went to Jamie Foxx.
5. Sandra Bullock refused the role of Million Dollar Baby; The movie which later won the Best Picture Academy Award.
6. Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal were given the role in The Avatar. They refused and The Avatar became highest grossing movie of all time.
7. John Travolta was offered the role of Forrest Gump in Forrest Gump. He refused the offer and as we all know; the role went to Tom Hanks; who even grabbed an Oscar for his performance. Not only Forrest Gump won 6 academy awards but it was also the highest grossing movie of 1994.
