Here I bring you few tips and tricks that would get you placed sooner or later.
1)Clearing the first round
No matter how much technical knowledge you have, you can't showcase your skills unless you clear the first round.Every company eliminates more than half of the students in the first round. so take the written test seriously. If you have taken coaching or attended programs like CRT training then it is a plus.Still, you have to practise and revise the concepts thoroughly before taking the test. I suggest you to go through few interview experiences from GeeksforGeeks it will help you in knowing about the exam pattern and the further processes of a company. Also, go through previous placement papers of the companies because most of the questions will be repeated, you can find most of them on prepinsta. Most companies conduct their written test on third party platforms like AMCAT,CoCubes,Hackerrank etc so as you keep taking tests you may notice that few questions are repeated from previous exams. So it is important to search for the answers for those questions which will help in the future tests. Try to remember questions for Reading Comprehension it is a very time consuming section and is usually asked only on AMCAT. Go through this guy's videos Aptitude Academy they are short and clear and will help you to solve the problems is less time . If you are still not able to clear the test then it is better to sit beside the friend who is good in clearing them :p but beware of the invigilator.
Only few companies conduct this round and it is mostly on hackerrank. Usually the problems are not that tough and there will be easy ones too. Try finishing the easy ones first because there will be a time limit. To clear this round you need to be good in programming. I suggest you to practise problems from geeks for geeks and hackerrank. If you are not into coding and were not able to clear this round, then try for pega/salesforce drive companies and there are lot of companies which don't conduct this round you just need to do well in the interview.
Like the coding round most companies don't conduct this round I've had only 3 group discussions in the entire placement season. Some companies may have just a minute(JAM) sessions instead, where you have to speak about a topic. Before starting the group discussion enough time will be given to think about the topic. In this time write down all the main points about the topic in a piece of paper. And you must be very active because most students will not allow you to talk so always keep finding gaps and speak.Don't stammer while talking and don't argue it's not a debate. just make your points clear and give chance to others. You can go through group discussion tips videos on youtube and read articles for more info.
Now this is also a elimination round. The level of toughness varies for different companies. before attending the interview you need to build a professional Resume.keep the resume short and simple. It must contain your education details starting from 10th,your certifications, skills, projects and hobbies. In the skills section don't mention every subject you learnt in your graduation mention only the subjects which you have thorough knowledge on.because the interviewer will asks questions about those skills only as per their requirements. Be very confident while giving answers.
5)HR Round
After clearing all the technical rounds you'll be attending the Hr round. In this round they'll check whether you're really interested in working with them, Mostly they'll be asking non technical questions like what are you're hobbies, what do your parents do?,
will you be willing to work at so and so timings, what is your preferred location and so on. They may also ask whether you're interested in higher studies? Saying Yes to this question is a big No. The companies will be looking for the candidates who are willing to work with them for a long time. So say no when they ask if you're interested in higher studies. Sometimes they tell you to sign on some papers, you have to be careful in such cases, most of the students think this as a job confirmation and blindly sign on those papers without even reading what's written in them.so read thoroughly before signing on papers.Always ask questions when they ask "Do you have any questions?" know about their company before going for placement.
6)Result
Most companies declare the results on the same day of the interview, but some companies take few days or even weeks to declare the result. In such cases don't take other companies for granted while waiting for the result thinking that you have high chances of getting placed. Things don't happen like you want them to. you may get rejected even if you performed very well. These companies will continue their candidate search in other colleges and will declare the result after interviewing other college candidates, so the chances of you being recruited will become less.
What's next?
Now once after you got placed don't stop the job hunt, keep aiming for better jobs with good packges. Try getting into product based companies. keep improving yourself every day.
Don't take placements for granted if you're planning for higher studies or for some other reasons. it's better to keep a job in hand as a backup, because you might not get the good score in gre or your visa maybe rejected.so attend every placement.
Don't lose hope if you're being rejected, your time will come. still if you don't get campus placement there are other options to try.
